We made our way from Palawan to Bohol and were finally greeted by good weather. We stayed on Alona Beach in Panglao for most of the days and spend some great time with two very good friends, coming over from Singapore – Rosa & Jeremy. During the fun weekend with these two we enjoyed the island life at the beach and did three beautiful dives in the marine reserve of Balicasag, a small island next to Panglao.
When Rosa and Jeremy had to leave again, we used another day to explore Bohol island with a scooter and visited the three most famous spots: the Chocolate Hills, the Philippine Tarsier Foundation Sanctuary and the Fireflies on Abatan River.
After 4 days on Bohol we took a ferry to Camigiun, where we stayed in a gorgeous guesthouse – “The Volcano Houses”. A perfect place to relax in the middle of Camigiun’s wild nature. We rented a scooter here as well and visited beautiful waterfalls, hiked up the Old Volcano and drove by the Sunken Cemetery. Camigiun is also known for daytrips to Mantigue, a paradisiacal small island to sunbath and snorkel in the marine reserve. The trip is definitely worth it and we enjoyed our time there to the fullest!
The next island on our list was Siquijor, which we reached by taking another two ferries. Our lodge in Siquijor was lovely and we immediately felt at home in the “Tagbalayon Lodging House”. Just like Camiguin, Siquijor is best explored on a scooter. We drove around the whole island in our 3 days here and visited places like the Old Balete Tree with its Fish Spa, the Cambugahay falls, Kagusuan Beach and the Tubod Beach Marine Reserve. Apart from that, Siquijor is one of the best places to enjoy a beautiful sunset.
