We can now say that we found our personal paradise! The green peaks and turquoise waters left us speechless…
We arrived to Papeete and stayed two nights, which gave us time to visit the center of the capital city. We were surprised by the beautiful street art we found all around us.
After the city escape we started on our Air Tahiti Pass flights. The first one brought us to Moorea, where we spent 4 nights. We explored the island and its gorgeous beaches with a scooter, did a snorkeling tour in the lagoon and went diving with the lemon and grey sharks.
Our next stop was Bora Bora, where we spent 2 nights. The view of the lagoon directly from the airport is stunning and it even gets better during a lagoon tour. We could snorkel with big groups of blacktip sharks, eagle rays, sting rays and enjoy a typical lunch with “poisson cru” on a small motu with a nice view of the main island.
The final island we visited was Maupiti. It is a small island next to Bora Bora, which is surrounded by several motus and is inhabited by only 200 people. They are very welcoming and treat you as family from the first moment on. In our opinion, Maupiti was the most authentic place we visited. During the lagoon tour we saw huge manta rays and we could taste a typical “Tahitian Four” on one of the motus. The 2 nights here also gave us time to hike to the peak of hte island. The hike is quite tough, but the view is definitely worth it!
We spent our last day and night in Tahiti with Jean & Mimi, a French couple that lives on the island since 2 years. We got the contact from a friend in common and they took us in as their own friends without knowing us. We had a great time in their cosy home and can now count with two more friends. Thanks again for the awesome shelter, guys!
